Con is the new Excited – Strangely Random Thoughts Indeed

Disenchanted Snow White

Disenchanted Snow White

Well looky here — I found this post sitting in my drafts. The daily prompt thing is way over. But here it is anyway:

I occasionally check out the Daily Prompts blog and was intrigued by this one:

“Click over to your favorite blog, and pick out the 4th and 14th words (that aren’t “the” or “an”). Drop them into this phrase:

“_____ is the new _____.”

There’s your post title. Now write!

So, this is what I came up with (leaving out useless words):

Con is the new excited.

Con is the new excited. How can I expand upon this? The definition of the word con is this, (one of many, apparently): to persuade by deception, cajolery, etc.

The definition of the word excited: to arouse or stir up (emotions or feelings).

For the purposes of writing this post, let’s flip it around: Excited is the new con.

Now, let’s use antonyms just for fun: disenchanted is the new honesty. There it is. It’s really quite true, isn’t it? To become disenchanted is to rid yourself of an illusion; to become completely honest with yourself.

This is always harder than it sounds, am I right?
